      JEWISH CONTINUITY

No group is further removed from the Jewish fabric of Israeli society than the
immigrant Russian population. Torn from their roots, this community of millions presents Israel with the opportunity – and the responsibility – to enable them to explore their Jewish identity.

JOI links immigrants to their Jewish heritage through a wide range of Jewish continuity programming:

Television and Film
– JOI produces and broadcasts television segments and documentaries on Jewish learning, holidays and personalities to the broadest audience possible in Israel and the FSU (over 150,000 viewers).

Lectures and Holiday Programming
JOI sponsors Russian-language education and holiday programs in several Israeli cities, while JOI-trained educators teach Judaism to Russian speakers around the globe.

Life-Cycle Events – JOI helps immigrant Jews celebrate and appreciate the meaning of life-cycle events such as Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and weddings, as well as mourning and Kaddish rituals.
