TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
Marriage Therapists’ Training Institute – JOI developed this intensive, 6-year certification course to provide qualified marriage therapists from within the Russian-speaking community. Training combines theoretical and skills-based studies with private counseling of couples under professional supervision.
Marriage Educators’ Course – JOI's 50-hour mini-course for professionals and laymen, designed to enhance skills in mentoring, lecturing and writing about marriage and family issues.
EDUCATION
Psycho-Educational Workshops – New to the Russian immigrant community, a dynamic series of interactive workshops, based on the well-established PAIRS ® model, inculcates healthy communication, bonding, and conflict management patterns.
Parenting Effectiveness Workshops – Group analysis of issues, communication techniques, relationships and family dynamics, led by JOI-trained experts.
High School Relationship Groups – Students develop good relationship habits early, before they contemplate marriage and family, as they explore self-awareness and self-confidence, communication skills, coping skills, conflict resolution, boundaries, family models, intimacy and love.
Getaway Seminars – Two-day and three-day retreats for couples, offering an opportunity for rejuvenation and bonding together with seminars on marriage and communication, to stabilize and strengthen troubled family relationships.
Family Finance Workshops – Another brick in the wall of assistance, helping families live within their means and manage their daily expenses.
CRISIS INTERVENTION
Russian-Speaking Crisis Hotline – JOI-trained operators provide free, anonymous, emergency assistance to all callers.
Women's Weekend Retreats – A crucial, affordable respite for overstressed wives and mothers, these three-day getaways include meals, recreational activities, and inspirational and self-actualizing lectures.
Counseling and Workshop Subsidy Fund – JOI enables individuals to access all our family workshops and private therapy through direct subsidies.
FSU Ambassadors – JOI sends marriage lecturers, workshop presenters and therapists to Jewish communities in the Former Soviet Union, with ongoing support and counseling done via phone and video conferencing.
FAMILY MEDIA
Educational Books, Cassettes, DVDs, Television and Film – JOI develops and distributes a host of Russian-language marriage and family educational material through books, audio tapes, video CDs and DVDs, JOI-produced television segments and documentary films.
Family Publications – JOI produces and distributes Russian-language newsletters and articles which guide, encourage and support thousands of couples and families in the Russian and Kafkasi communities in Israel and in the Former Soviet Union. A Russian website archives these articles online. |
